Toolbox is part of Parents Inc. PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS FOR PARENTS. Their mission statement is : ‘To encourage and inspire parents and equip them with the skills and resources needed to grow great kids’.
Gaylyn Wills and Pauline Livesey are both trained facilitators and aim to run two courses per year for Waiuku families.
This course is full of common sense and inspirational ideas that can only have a positive impact on those who participate.
Toolbox courses are delivered in three age groups – Early Years (0-6), Middle Years (6-12), Teens and Teens (12+). Each course runs for six sessions. Building Awesome Whanau is a course that spans the early and middle years There is a comprehensive manual, ‘experts’ on video and lively interaction.
Participants also receive a one year subscription to the Parenting magazine. Although the facilitators do this work voluntarily, there is a course fee for each participant that must be paid to Parents Inc.
St Andrews Community Trust believe this is such a valuable resource for local families that we aim to provide a 50% subsidy for each participating parent.
